A day off in London

I am someone who loves to make the most of a day off from work. When I was studying at University, I would happily spend my days off lounging around the house in my pyjamas all day with my duvet, my laptop and copious amounts of hot drinks to keep me company. However now that I pretty much work full time, I like to make the most of my days off. Today I decided to take a trip up to London. I lived in London whilst I was at University and now that I have moved back home I am missing it a lot! Whilst I plan to move back next year, I still like to catch the train up as often as I can. I didn't really need to buy anything today - I was looking out for a winter coat and boots but I was also just happy browsing.

My first stop was Selfridges where I spent half of my time browsing the beauty hall and the other half browsing the food hall - It pretty much always goes this way, as well as teasing myself by staring at the latest make up I want to add to my stash. I spent a lot of time at the Charlotte Tilbury counter today. Her products are so lovely to look at, never mind how amazing they are in quality. As usual the window displays were so unique and fun but I must say I am looking forward to their Christmas displays (too soon?).

After covering the main shops like Forever 21, numerous Zaras, Pull and Bear and Topshop, I took a left turn onto Carnaby Street. I love looking in all the unique shops but the shops I almost always manage to make purchases in are Brandy Melville and Monki.

Monki fits into Carnaby Street so well due to it's unique clothes and design of shop. I love the ferris wheel-like stands inside and the mirrored staircase! Today I bought a piece of clothing in Brandy Melville which I am very excited about as it makes a great transitional piece. I love the basic clothing in Brandy as it means you can just throw it on and be ready to go. Their clothing also tends to be so soft to the touch! I'm one of those people who can't walking past a fluffy jumper and not stroke it.

I always pop into Whole Foods to browse the fresh bakery and see if there are any new peanut butters around that I haven't gotten my hands on yet. Today I spotted these which I haven't seen in there before; fresh brew iced coffee. I didn't buy them today as it had begun raining and I was in the mood for something warm but I will be buying one or two in the near future as I am a huge lover of iced coffee!

Almost every time I go shopping, there is always one piece of clothing that I lust after but don't buy because I can't bring myself to cause any more damage to my card. So here is the item I lusted after today...

I haven't really looked into buying a duster coat before but when I saw this one today, I instantly wanted it/needed it/felt I couldn't live without it. But alas, I took a photo of the masterpiece and left it on it's hanger. It is from the petite section in Topshop but I feel that duster jackets vary in length so it doesn't matter too much if you're a bit taller and want to buy this! Here is the link if any of you are lucky enough to have the spare coins lying around: Topshop Duster Jacket

So what did I buy? Posts to follow!

Have a lovely evening :)
