My current go-to base

So now that we're most definitely into the colder weather, I have switched up my base in order for my skin to look good all day. Long gone are the tinted moisturisers and golden highlighters as I have now made room in my make up bag for my favourite winter products.

First up is the L'oreal skin perfection magic touch instant blur primer. I had a tube of Benefit's Porefessional primer and used it sparingly, usually only on special occasions. When I heard about Loreal's skin perfection, I was excited to try it to see if it was similar to Porefessional as I had always wanted a less expensive version of it which I could use on a daily basis. I can confirm that they are indeed very similar. They are the same consistency and leave the same, smooth finish. I also feel that they have the same lasting time as they both ensure my make up stays in place all day. If you are looking for a dupe of Porefessional then definitely give Skin Perfection a try!

My favourite foundation of all time is the Nars sheer glow foundation (I wear the shade 'Mont blanc'). This has by far been my most worn foundation ever since I bought it 2 years ago. The coverage is medium-heavy but it can also be mixed with a moisturiser in order to make it a lighter coverage and this also looks great. I use my real techniques expert face brush to apply this foundation and it gives a flawless finish. All I ask from a foundation is that it evens out my skin tone and leaves a fairly natural finish and Nars have managed to do just that which I am eternally grateful for!

The highlighter I have been reaching for recently is 'Copacabana' by Nars. I have often been mixing it with my foundation to leave a glowing finish but for days when I'm not doing too much I use a tiny amount of it to highlight my cheekbones. I love Copacobana because it actually sinks into your skin, unlike a lot of highlighters I've tried which just seem to sit on top of my skin and look very separate to my foundation. I prefer using pink toned highlighters in the winter as I think they are suited to a paler complexion.

I have been using the Nars radiant creamy concealer (I wear the shade Vanilla) to conceal my under eye areas and blemishes. I find a little goes a long way with this concealer as it is a little heavier than other concealers I have tried so I work it in gradually. This concealer blends seemlessly into the skin and stays on my face all day which I love because I am not a fan of touching up concealer.

The second concealer I have been enjoying using is the Dior skin nude concealer. I use this concealer on any areas that don't need such heavy coverage such as around my nose and mouth, so basically any red areas. This concealer gives a light, dewy finish so along with Copacobana, it really gives your face that little bit of glow. It is also quite hydrating so is great for the dry skin that winter weather can give us!

Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what your favourite base products are at the moment. Hope you're having a great weekend!
