I have to admit I wasn't overly excited about my graduation until the day arrived. After taking my last exam back in May, I felt like I had lost most of my connections to London Southbank University and although it saddened me, we had all moved swiftly on! It wasn't until I arrived at the Southbank Centre and saw everyone in their gowns and mortarboards that I became pretty proud of us all and excited to celebrate what we had all achieved. After taking numerous photos we moved into the Festival Hall for the ceremony and applauded everyone for their hard work. It really was a great feeling to walk across the stage and think about how my degree will contribute to my future career! After the ceremony, we all had a glad of bubbly and reminisced over the past three years. I will miss University but I am pleased that I can say I have a degree in English Literature and take the next step in my life!
After realising that every occasion dress in my wardrobe was black, I headed out to find a dress which would add a bit of colour to an otherwise all black outfit. The brightest shade that I could manage was this blue and it turned out it matched the hood on my gown anyway so the outfit came together pretty well! The lace detailing on the dress is actually see through but I figured what with the colder weather and it being a university ceremony, wearing a black top underneath would be a good idea. I think it works well with the outfit but it also looks lovely with the see through detailing which is how I will be wearing it from now on!
Dress: H&M
Boots: Vagabond
I only ever wanted to attend a university in London and I don't regret it one bit. London is a beautiful city and today was such a great day spent by the river! I hope you all enjoyed your graduations if you graduated this year and also - a huge congratulations!
Have a great week,
Hayley xx
