Recently, I have become rather accustomed to the idea of a capsule wardrobe. Investing in a few, quality items per season strikes me as a great way to save both time (scrolling through Asos' 'new in' section) and money. Whilst I haven't fully jumped on board with the concept, I have found myself spending a lot less money on clothes and I don't feel like my wardrobe is crying out for anything in particular!
Last month, I took a trip to Amsterdam and was fully preparing myself for a cold (but great) few days. So when I found myself in Brandy Melville the week before, I instantly gravitated towards the warmer pieces and that's when I found my Amsterdam wardrobe. Brandy Melville is a little haven of Italian, American, Tumblresque beauty - and it's cheaper than Topshop! I bought three jumpers - two of which were the same jumper in different colours and a faux fur lined jacket. Essentially, this, along with two pairs of Topshop Jamie jeans, was my 'capsule wardrobe' for my city break and I have really enjoyed rotating these pieces ever since!
Every one of these items is luxuriously soft to the touch which I really appreciate - yes, I'm one of those people who can't walk through a store without stroking everything that looks even slightly furry. They were also all under £30 each which I think is pretty reasonable for these items and is even more acceptable if they become part of a capsule wardrobe.
Whilst Brandy Melville is yet to make it's way onto many UK high streets, you can order from their website. I have also wandered into their branches in Barcelona, Berlin and Amsterdam!
So, I have two questions for you...
1) Are you a regular in Brandy Melville?
2) Have you ever thought about down sizing to a capsule wardrobe?
